VILLAGE CHEESES:
TASTE KNOWS NO LIMITS
Small is beautiful and very small is very good. Many Italian delicacies come from small towns with less than 5000 inhabitants; villages that become destinations for gourmet tourism thanks to good cheese. Each region of our peninsula offers âconnoisseursâ a vast and varied culinary landscape. Rognoni has selected two specialities for you, absolute nuggets from the extreme Italian province, a âLittle Italyâ for connoisseurs.
ADALPINA, ALPINE SOFT CHEESE
This cheese is produced in the province of Brescia, along that wonderful path that leads to the Po Valley, and has even been appreciated by the sheiks of Qatar. Its characteristic is now legendary: fresh cowâs milk which transmits the fragrant taste and delicate perfume of the essences of mountain pastures.
CRUDO DEL RUSĂ, NOSTRANO DI GROMO
The Latin word grumus means altitude, hill. The hills of Gromo, in Val Seriana, are the birthplace of this delicious raw milk cheese. It is dedicated to a mythical and legendary local figure, the brigand RusĂŹ, a Robin Hood-like character from Bergamo who fell madly in love. Just as today one can fall madly in love with this very special dairy product.
